Dancer: Cycles, Ortographobia, Fight Flight and Automatic
Caitlin Barfield started her pre-professional career in Austin, Texas with numerous teachers and choreographers. Her training consisted of competitive dancing until the age of 16, and then transitioned to training rigorously in ballet and modern. With a BFA degree in dance from California State University at Long Beach, she trained extensively with the faculty including Lorin Johnson, Andrew Vaca, Rebecca Lemme, Sophie Monat, Rebecca Bryant and more. With her performance experience, includes collaborations with alumni, guest artists and the faculty of CSULB while performing a variety of styles including contemporary, modern, ballet, jazz and more. Since her time at CSULB, she has become certified in the American Ballet Theatre National Training Curriculum in levels Pre-Primary to Level 5. Caitlin currently works at South Coast Conservatory in Laguna Niguel, CA, training the commercial conservatory dancers in ballet technique. She continues to perform several projects for Britton’s Dance Project in the San Diego Area, and for Authentic: Grooves in the Greater Los Angeles area. With the trajectory of her career, Caitlin hopes to continue pursuing a career in teaching dance to the younger generation and aspires to acquire a graduate degree in early childhood education.
