DIRECTOR / DANCER / CHOREOGRAPHER /
Based in Southern California
San Diego native, Stephanie Britton, graduated with honors from California State University, Long Beach, with a Bachelor’s degree in Dance and a minor in Child Development and Family Studies. Upon graduation, Stephanie founded Britton's Dance Project, a project-based dance company established in Southern California as an outlet for dancers and community members to connect through movement and discussions. Along with directing, Stephanie also accrues stage time as a professional dancer. She is extremely grateful to dance under Jean Isaacs, at San Diego Dance Theater while gaining practical experience in her two fields of study. She plans to continue studying dance with a Masters degree, while investigating how choreography can bring awareness to different issues such as trauma, mental health, and inequalities. Acknowledging dance as a therapeutic and physical practice, Stephanie hopes to open people’s minds to different perspectives through movement.
